These Sweet Moments

Well, today was the first berry picking outing as a mama and baby out of the womb. Hours and hours of produce picking, jam making and canning happened last summer wrapping up just mere weeks before Charolette joined us on the outside.

Not gonna lie, as excited as I was about the idea of berry picking this year I have to admit I was a little nervous!

So, today I finally did it! I took the sweetest berry I know to the patch!

And you know what?

It was hot. It was messy. It was not a large harvest.

But you know what else?

It was beautiful. It was a learning experience for Charolette and I. It was a time to bond and learn how Charolette handles and processes a different situation out of our normal routine.

It was a time for me to learn how to support and communicate with my daughter. And that is more sweet to me than any amount of berries could ever be.

Mamas (and dadas too!), I want to encourage you to be brave. It is these small and big and everyday situations that help us learn more about our children. It's these times that provide crucial insight into who our children are.

It's in these moments that we catch glimpses of who God is developing our children into.

It's in these moments that God uses our weaknesses to grow us; He fills the gap between where we end and where our child needs us to be.

What an incredible God!

So, with our little bowl of strawberries and even fewer raspberries, we loaded up and came home and ate some together. And you know what? Those smiles and giggles mashed with the sweet strawberry juice running down her fingers and chin are moments I will never forget.
